April 21st

The MRI came back Thursday revealing multiple masses on mom's brain. These have surfaced since the end of February because when she had her CT Scan back then, it was clear. It is too dangerous to operate on these because of their locations and how many there are. Also, she has already received radiation in these areas so they cannot fully radiate her brain again. This is terminal and the doctors have given us a timeframe of about 2-6 weeks.

They are doing some type of radiation right now just to help with her brain function to try and give her a better quality of life these next few weeks. It's just 3 treatments so they aren't really administering a full cycle, which we were told they cannot do again. But hopefully, these 3 treatments will help to clear her mind so we can all say goodbye.

Please allow just the family to be with mom right now while she is in the hospital. Once we move her to a hospice, I will let everyone know where she will be. I know many people would like to see her and we will try to arrange that.

To everyone who has asked for me to repost mom's Regions account information here it is: It is under my name so ask for them to pull up accounts for Lindsey C Kirk and the last 4 digits of the account are 7812. Thank you to everyone who has contributed. (And a special thank you to mom's church, Smyrna Presbyterian, who has been like a family member to us in this time of need). This account for mom has helped pay all of mom's medical bills and also now it will continue to help by assisting us with hospice bills and her final arrangements.

Thanks everyone.

Lindsey,
It's hard to accept news like this. Your mom and the whole family are continually on my heart.

Hey Lindsay, it's Peggy here. Please tell Krista how much I love her and want her to be pain free! I don't think any of us will ever understand this! I pray the Lord will comfort you all in the next few weeks. I probably won't get to be there b/c of our own family situations and problems, but Krista knows, at least, how much I love and have always treasured her as my best friend! You have a Mom to be very proud of! I know you are every bit as great of a person and will be as a Mom! Please hug her for me and your parents, too! Love, Peggy

I love you all so much and I am so sorry that this has to happen to such an amazing family. We will be constantly praying for Krista to be pain free.
Krista, I hope you know how much you have impacted so many lives. You are such a strong woman. We love you.
