Happy Birthday, Mom
Today is my mom's would be 53rd birthday so my heart's a little heavy. It's hard to imagine what it's like to lose a parent until you do and then the strangest thing happens: life goes on. You don't think it will, but it does.
And that kind of makes you a little more sad, because a world without your mom is a world no one wants to live in. I try to remember the good stuff and laugh, but on days like today it's hard to pretend that I'm not a little less complete and wanting nothing more than to go to Marshall's and find her rummaging through the housewares section for knick knacks. If mom were here I would have gotten her a cute bag or outfit, or maybe even some jewelry, yellow gold, of course. Instead, this year I am going to take that money that I would have spent on her gift and donate to Light the Night. I hope she likes it. :) If you feel so inclined to get her a bday gift too, you can do so here.

Mom on Marshall's
I went to mom's office to get some stuff that she had left there and it was hard for me. Her office has moved from over near North Point Mall to right behind the Wal-Mart over by Town Center. I realized that if she was still here, we could be having lunch together whenever we wanted. :( One thing she would not like about this new location is that the closest Marshall's is the one by Town Center. She hated that Marshall's! She always said it was the worst one. She loved her Roswell area Marshalls'. Per mom, those were always cleaner and newer and they kept their stores organized. So if you ever want to know where the nicer Marshall's are, just shoot for the Roswell area and you're set. ;)
Things are still going slowly as far as mom's house. We are waiting for dad to get an oppurtunity to come up here with a U-Haul and take all the furniture he wants. Then we will probably have an estate sale with the rest of her things. I will post more as more info and details are worked out.
I am organizing some fundraiser parties to raise money for the team I started in mom's memory for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night. I will keep you guys in the loop on where and when so you can attend and help us even more than you already have.
Here is the team page website if you want to donate online: Team Kritta
