Hey Y'all

If you're still tuning in,wow! You're dedicated! I don't really have too much to report. We are still bustling around trying to get mom's things in order as far as settling debts, rummaging through her things, and getting the house ready to sell.

I will tell you that in doing all of this cleaning and rummaging, I've come to the conclusion that mom never threw anything away!!!!! I found my own baby clothes, people! Old nasty egg crates. Most people throw those away but not mom! She wrapped them up in garbage bags and put them in the attic. So we could pull them out decades later and.....you guessed it - throw them away! I was laughing as we were pulling stuff out of the attic. Some of the things she kept, I guess she did it because she thought someone could use them later or something. I don't know.

One thing I would like to ask of you all who are still tuning in. If you could please leave comments on this blog about mom. Your memories, favorite Krista moments or stories. I want my children to know about their grandmother. The one thing that hurts me more than even missing mom myself is that my children will never know her. I want them to know how she touched other people. How wonderful and fun she was. So if you could please leave me a comment on this blog or even email me if you'd rather not be so public about it, thats fine. But I want something to share with my kids about their Granna - thats the name me and mom came up with for my future kids to call her back before she was even sick :)

Thanks everyone!

Cancer

Is it just me or is cancer rampant these days? I feel like the incidences of cancer are way more prevavlent nowadays than they used to be. I found out today that a coworker learned this week that he has stage 4 skin cancer. Stage 4! He just had a strange mole come up on his arm and he went into the doctor to have it removed and the test came back positive for cancer. He went to a specialist and just like that...it's stage 4. He's under 30, too! Cancer certainly doesn't discriminate. I just feel like there's no escaping it. Everyone's life has been or will be touched by this terrible disease. Please pray for my coworker, Joe. I shared with him that the Lord worked many miracles for mom through prayer and I know that He can do the same for Joe. Thanks!

Team Kritta!!

Hey everyone. If you're still checking in with me, thanks! I'm glad I still have an audience.

I wanted to let you all know that I have already met my goal of raising $10,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's annual Light the Night Walk that is coming up in October!! Isn't that great? It's July 1 and I have to raise my goal to $11,000!!

As a team, we have raised almost $11,000!! Any team that raises $10,000 or more gets its own tent with the team name on it at the walk so there is going to be a Team Kritta tent!! I hope you all will come out and support us as we walk to raise money for this amazing cause and to remember mom. I hope she is proud of what I have done so far. PS - For those of you who don't know, my friends affectionately referred to mom as Kritta, Kritter, and Kritta Kritta ;) So I thought that name was appropriate for mom's team.

Now I am pushing for $11,000!! :) If you have not done so yet, please visit my Light the Night page. You can donate online and it's really easy!! Copy the link below and paste it into your browser....

If you'd rather, you can still send a check made out to LLS (Leukemia and Lymphoma Society) to me:

And thank you to everyone who has donated so far! It's because of you all that I have been this successful!!
